As the minimum required documentation, you must have a copy of your ID or driver's license, the vehicle registration, and a copy of the property title.Â
In the case of financed vehicles, an authorization letter from the entity that is financing the unit is additionally required to make the shipment.Â
Shipping from Jacksonville (FL) to Puerto Rico takes approximately 3-5 calendar days. While from Eddystone (PA), it takes about 7 calendar days.Â
However, you must know that these times are estimates and may vary depending on the capacity of the port, the season, or logistical changes in the port that modify the normal operation of shipments.Â

Yes, as soon as the bank or the agency you are paying for the car gives you a letter saying that you are paying for it and that you can transport it out of the country. With that authorization, you will be able to ship your vehicle.Â
No. If you don't have the title of the vehicle you must apply to the DTOP (Department of Transportation and Public Works) for a duplicate title in order to transport the vehicle.
It's optional. However, for your peace of mind, we always recommend that you take out marine insurance for the transport of your car. The cost of marine insurance will depend on the declared value of the vehicle.Â
Taxes (arbitrios) are thefees paid for the provision or maintenance of service. In the case of excise taxes for importing cars to Puerto Rico, these must be paid once the vehicle arrives in the country and before removing it from the port.
